Purpose

The Turtle Bay Foundation was established in 2012 to enrich Oahu’s North Shore through environmental, educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities. The Foundation oversees the numerous charitable contributions of Turtle Bay Resort, acting as a partner in the community and supporting the resort’s mission of making one of the world’s greatest places even better.

Scholarships

The Turtle Bay Foundation Scholarship is designed to award one-year educational scholarships. The amount and number of the scholarships will be determined by the availability of funds. Determination of award winners will be made by the Turtle Bay Foundation Scholarship Committee in its sole discretion. Scholarship funds will be released once confirmation of registration into an educational program has been received by the Foundation.

Application Process

*Application deadline: 11:59 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024

  1. Complete and submit the online application form.
  2. Upload a copy of your most recent high school transcripts (official or unofficial) reflecting your current and cumulative GPA through December 2023. College applicants must upload their final high school transcript and current college transcript through December 2023.
  3. Upload a video submission (MAXIMUM 1.5 minutes).
  4. Upload a high-resolution headshot.
  5. IMPORTANT: Applicants who do not submit their online application, AND upload their transcripts, video and photo by 11:59 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024, will not be considered.

Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be a resident of the State of Hawai‘i and reside between Mokuleia and Kualoa or have an immediate family member that has been employed at Turtle Bay Resort or Turtle Bay Golf for the last 5 years.
  2. Applicants must attend an accredited college / university in the 2024 – 2025 school year. Any Scholarship funds awarded are for the 2024 – 2025 school year and will not be held for future use. Proof of enrollment will be required before funds are distributed. If the selected scholarship recipient is unable to provide proof of enrollment, the scholarship funds will be forfeited.
  3. Applicants must have a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 grading scale GPA.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients will be selected on a competitive merit basis by using a combination of criteria including (but not limited to):

  • Academic Performance
  • Leadership
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Community Involvement / Volunteerism
  • Quality & Content of Video Submission: MAXIMUM 1.5 minutes in length
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants who are high school seniors graduating in 2024, however current college students are also encouraged to apply.

Video Submission

Your video submission must be original and created for the sole purpose of the scholarship application. Any inappropriate or non-related content will not be considered. Students applying must submit a 1 to 1.5 minute video in response to the prompts below. You must submit your video as a part of this application via the upload link by 11:59 PM on February 16, 2024

ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS:

Scholarship recipients will be e-mailed an official notice along with any terms associated with their scholarship within fourteen days of the Foundation’s decision. By submitting a scholarship application, scholarship recipients agree to allow the Foundation to use their name, photo and video submission publicly.
