Mission Statement

The Turtle Bay Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our Koʻolauloa and North Shore communities by supporting scholastic, cultural, and environmental education.

Scholarship Overview

The Turtle Bay Foundation Scholarship offers one-year educational scholarships. The number and amount of scholarships depend on available funds and are determined solely by the Turtle Bay Foundation Scholarship Board. Scholarship funds will be released once proof of enrollment in an educational program is provided.

Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be residents of the State of Hawai‘i and live between Mokulēʻia and Kualoa, or have an immediate family member who is currently employed at The Ritz-Carlton O‘ahu, Turtle Bay or Turtle Bay Golf.
  2. Applicants must attend an accredited college, university, or trade/vocational school during the 2026-2027 school year. Scholarship funds will be applied for the 2026-2027 school year only and will not be held for future use. Proof of enrollment will be required before funds are distributed. If the selected recipient cannot provide proof of enrollment by July 31, 2026, the scholarship funds will be forfeited.
  3. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale (Cumulative for Freshman Year through Senior Year Quarter 2 as of December 2025). Applicants with a cumulative GPA below 2.0 will not be reviewed/considered.

Application Process

*Application deadline: Sunday, February 01, 2026

  1. Complete and submit an online application.
  2. Upload a high-resolution headshot (a photo of yourself that you would be proud to showcase in your yearbook or on a resume)
  3. Upload a 1-1.5 minute video responding to the following prompt:
    • Introduce yourself and share anything you’d like us to know about you. We’d love to hear how you plan to create positive change using your skills, passions, and values. In your video, please share your educational and career goals, what drives you, and how these align with the mission of the Turtle Bay Foundation. Tell us how you hope to use your strengths and values to make a meaningful impact in the Koʻolauloa and North Shore communities.
  4. Upload academic records:
    • High School Students: Your most recent OFFICIAL High School transcript showing your CUMULATIVE GPA for your Freshman Year through Senior Year Quarter 2 as of December 2025.
    • College Students: Upload our most recent OFFICIAL College transcript showing your CUMULATIVE GPA for your Freshman Year of College to current semester, as of December 2025.
    • Trade School Students: You may upload a letter of recommendation.

IMPORTANT: All materials (application form, headshot, video, and academic records) must be submitted by 11:59 PM on Sunday, February, 01 2026, to be eligible for consideration by the scholarship review committee.

Video Guidelines & Tips

Create a 1–1.5 minute video that tells us your story!

  • Maximum length: 1.5 minutes. Videos longer than 1.5 minutes will not be reviewed or considered, so please ensure your final upload stays within the time limit.
  • Be intentional and concise. Plan your key points ahead of time to make the most of your 90 seconds.
  • Showcase your creativity. Thoughtful, engaging, and original content is encouraged. Let your personality and passion shine through.
  • Check your quality. Make sure your audio is clear and your video is well-lit before submitting.
  • *If your video is more than 100MB you may paste a link to your video on a Word document and upload the Word document in lieu of the video file.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on competitive merit using the following criteria:

  • Academic Performance (minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale)
  • Leadership
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Volunteer Work / Community Service
  • Community Connection
  • Quality and content of video submission (maximum 1.5 minutes – videos extending beyond 1.5 minutes will not be reviewed/considered)
  • Financial Need

Priority will be given to high school seniors graduating in 2026, but current college students and those attending trade or vocational schools are also encouraged to apply using the appropriate “Current College or Trade School Students” online application form.
