Turtle Bay Foundation’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament was a hole-in-one! Thanks to the incredible support of its sponsors and supporters, Turtle Bay Foundation surpassed its fundraising goal by raising $155,000 to support its scholarship program for North Shore and Ko‘olauloa students who are pursuing their dreams of higher education.

This year was the biggest turnout of teams to swing into action in support of Turtle Bay Foundation. Their participation, along with generous donor contributions, are what allowed the Foundation to achieve this milestone accomplishment.

“The biggest winners are the students whose educational dreams will become a reality thanks to the generous sponsors and donors who made the fundraiser a success.” said Jon Gersonde, Vice President and Managing Director of Turtle Bay Resort and President of Turtle Bay Foundation. “Turtle Bay Foundation is committed to growing our positive impact, and we’ll be putting 100% of the proceeds toward more college scholarships to assist the next generation of local leaders.”

Golfers and community members stepped off the green with memorable items from the Foundation’s online auction and Sunset Par-Tee celebration, including a round of golf with PGA Tour professional Tony Finau and Nike shoes signed by this year’s American Idol winner and Kahuku native, Iam Tongi.

Blackstone, the owner of Turtle Bay Resort, provides significant financial support to uplift Turtle Bay Foundation’s impact on the surrounding North Shore communities. The Foundation is also powered by guests at Turtle Bay Resort who are asked to donate a dollar a day during their stay.

Since 2012, Turtle Bay Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships and grants to 434 students and more than 70 nonprofits. In May, the Foundation gave its largest scholarship package yet: $150,000 to 50 students.
